Web Content Manager

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity reporting to the Director of Communications.

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Web Content Manager will be responsible for the innovation, commercial success, accuracy and guest experience of the APICS Vancouver Chapter's website.  This individual will be focusing on marketing, communications, guest service and brand building. 

The incumbent will manage all website content, create & maintain event & registration and will interact and communicate with all members of the board.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day website operations including creating, implementation, management and optimization of all content used on the website
  • Contribute to the process of information design ensuring the content is appropriately structured to meet goals for the site and needs of the users
  • Work closely with the technical and web development team to maintain site standards with regards to new development
  • Schedule and manage the creation/acquisition of content in accordance with the chapter's directives in a timely manner
  • Highly involved with coordinating with board members and volunteers including; marketing / membership / communications / programs for upcoming launches
  • Prepare textual content for websites (including feature articles, advertising copy, database content, links, FAQs, etc.)
  • Liaise with creative team in creation of any new multimedia content
  • Copyedit and proofread all web content
  • Managing banners within the web site including development of site banners for promotions and special offers
  • Compile and analyze reports including website statistics and attendee report
  • Update and maintain time-sensitive content materials
  • Compile and analyze user feedback
  • Recommend changes on site design as necessary
  • Monitor the marketplace and competitors, keeping the team informed on industry initiatives and key learning's within online store management to drive an increase traffic on the website

Experience:
  • 1 - 2 years of experience managing web content
  • Hands on experience with SHOUT content management software, Constant Contact and internet marketing would be an asset. 
  • Copywriting for the web
  • Basic knowledge of HTML
